  REVIEW:

3 parts alcohol, 1 part low self-esteem and a bunch of laughs gets you Knocked Up.

Knocked Up stars Katherine Heigl who has just gotten a promotion at work and goes out dancing with her sister to celebrate. It's there she meets a guy played by Seth Rogen. The both have too much to drink, one thing leads to another and well...she ends up pregnant. She decides to hunt down the so called father and try to involve him somehow in the pregnancy. They try to get to know each other some and she finds out he's pretty much a looser...a stoner, no job and definitely no money. But with his good intentions he starts to convince her that maybe he's not such a bad guy and maybe they have more in common than they originally think. Maybe, for the sake of the baby and putting their differences aside, they might not make such a bad couple.

Knocked Up is surprisingly hilarious.  The premise is not exactly novel and the stoner humor is fairly typical, but great wit, great timing, and perhaps the best acting ever for this type of movie makes Knocked Up a legitimate comedy.  Reportedly originally intended to be a follow-up to 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up actually represents a step up on the comedy and movie evolutionary ladder.  It’s a little too long and perhaps woefully unrealistic, but otherwise it’s a funny, delightful movie that most every guy will love and most every woman will happily tolerate.
